Sony headsets compatible with PS4?

37 replies 25706 views Edited Feb 21, 2013

I recently purchased the official Sony Pulse Elite Edition headset for $150. It's a great headset, I love it and use it everyday with my PS3. Will it be compatible with the PS4 as well? I would hate to have to buy a separate headset...this includes the first edition as well.

It probably will be. Sony is known for backwards compatibility.

Sony isn't dumb enough to drop their headset support. They'll make it so that you can still use your headset

I know it's going to pain some people, but we don't know yet. However if you were paying attention to the presentation (which appears NOBODY was) you would have heard that there will be a HEADPHONE INPUT on the Dualshock 4 controller.

That headset slot is for convenience, and I believe it's so that they can bundle a headset just like they did with the PSP. It looks like it's the same type of headset too. It's irrelevant to the question about current bluetooth headset anyways so I don't see how people aren't "paying attention".

If the Ps4 has USB (It will almost surely have it), then yes... The Pulse Headset (Got one on right now) can be used on the Vita, PC, iPod, etc. Also, the controller has the microphone/headphone jack which can be used utilizing the cord that came with the system.

I spent $220 buck on a TB PX5 and while other people can argue all day that the Astros are the best and TB sucks, I have to say that I absolutely love the px5 and the dual Bluetooth capabilities. However, if the ps4 doesn't have Bluetooth then there goes my perfectly good headset. Please tell me that they sent going to abandon Bluetooth support and do what Microsoft did and made the headset work through the controller only.
