Re: Sony and Bethesda Skyrim DLC Official PS3 request for answers

Nov 6, 2012
Well, I think just like recently we got the news that the PS3 would never support cross-game voice chat, telling us PS3 users that Skyrim DLC will never happen would sting a lot. But if that's the truth, then just bring it on already. It's sad that a system that was supposed to be capable of so much can't even run a game like Skyrim properly, when it runs so much better on other platforms. It's a sad time for us PS3 fans.. I think I'm finally ready for the next-gen system. You screwed up with the PS3 Sony, now learn from mistakes and give us back our gaming experience

No, Bethesda's last words on the Skyrim DLC is "we're working on it." There has been no announcement of cessation of work. They have gone dead silent. That's what's enraging PS3 Skyrim users. This complaining goes away only when the users decide it goes away......if ever.

Well they have said that there is no release date for the latest Dragonborn DLC.

http://www.examiner.com/article/bethesda-announces-third-skyrim-dlc-no-ps3-release-sight

The quote.

"Bethesda announced that the third add-on for “Skyrim”, titled Dragonborn, would have no release scheduled on the Playstation 3."

The article also says;

"Even after much deliberation and coding, the developer was unable to find a solution in porting the Dawguard DLC that released on Aug 2, 2012."

This would suggest that efforts to port that DLC have ceased.

As such, it sounds pretty final to me.

i would take anything that doesnt come from bethesda themselves with a grain of salt..  they gave no release date to the ps3 version of the dlc because they dont know when or if they will be able to release it... so its safer to not have a set date than to have one

Hey, I'm game if you can really produce a direct quote from Bethesda from yesterday saying ANYTHING about the PS3 version of Dragonborn or ANY update from them about ANY of their DLC. Be my guest. I've seen nothing coming from anyone out of their camp. Not even the usual gushing about their game. Inquiring minds want to know.

This link is the consumer protection agency complaint form. If enough people sign this and sound professional they will have to listen. If at the minumum everyone on this forum did this Bethesda will no choice but to respond.

And what would you be complaining about exactly?

The fact that a company is not releasing a product for you to buy?

They have no obligation to give you DLC.  You haven't paid for it.

You paid for the game of Skyrim.  They gave you a working game of Skyrim.  They patched it so it works, that was there only obligation to you.  DLC is a separate, optional, product that you buy.  The existence of that optional product has no bearing on functionality of the product you already paid for.

This is why the BBB never gets anything done.  Because real issues are always smothered in garbage complaints like this one.

Pretty much this. you're just wasting your time complaing about something as small as a DLC besides what can they do about it? the only problem with bethesda is there horrible dialogue with PS3 users

Thanks Wicked, but the complaint is about Bethesda's relationship with it's end users. And their lack of communication about the trainwreck they have with us. That's why it better served through Sony if Sony has any concern about their association with disgruntled fans. We already know Bethesda does not at this point.

Couldn't hurt though. Only takes a few minutes. At least a decent responce could come out of it. A small victory is better than none.

It won't hurt, but more so they should complain about the false advertisement of Add-On Content, that the game was equal in regards to it's Xbox counterpart, and that it was given extra attention to optimize it (it's not).
