Do I have to have a 3g model to be able to use Skype premium to make calls anywhere I go, or do I have to pay the 00.14 a minute to be able to use Boingo, Skypes hotspot connection.

You can use Skype from any public hotspot you happen to be near. McDonald's and Starbucks offer free wifi that works well with the Vita. As for 'anywhere', you'll need the 3G version of the Vita to use it. Even Boingo is a wifi hotspot service that is not available 'anywhere'.
I use my iPhone as a wifi hotspot for my Vita when I'm not in a location that offers wifi. Kinda redundant to use a phone's hotspot to use skype on a separate device, though... lol.

lol thanks for the Info. I kinda wanted to use Skype to replace my current phone, but if I have to buy a 3rd Vita and pay AT&T plus skype then forget it. They should make a Magic Jack app for the Vita.

I'm using my Vita 3g as my phone right now. I'm saving $50 a month since I ditched Verizon, and I have to say the Vita isn't too bad of a phone. It's a little big and the battery drains quicker, but it's nice just having one device to carry around. I wouldn't suggest getting another Vita to use as a phone, but if you already have a 3g model, I'd suggest looking into it.
