I have had an extremly diffucult time trying to configure my wrt54g wireless router to work seamlesly with my Playstation 3 wirelessly. I consider myself pretty computer savy, so this problem was driving me crazy. I put in all the port numbers playstation gave me I enabled DMZ. Under the security tab on my router configuration page I made sure ( Block anonymous internet request) box was unchecked. I had the correct IP address entered in my PS3, I even enterd my PS3 mac address in the Qos section of my router configuration page. I did all this and still nothing. Well actually The PS3 would succed on getting an IP address and connecting to the internet but I still could not use any of the PS3 online features. I knew the problem was in my routers configuration, so I did call Linksys but they could not help me because my router was to old to have Linksys phone support. I bought a brand new router just for the phone support and I finally know the answer to my problem and your problem too if your reading this article. Ok here it is. Type 192.168.1.1 into your browser to pull up Linksys router configuration under the (wireless tab) Change wireles channel to channel 11. Now save settings. Now go to (Advanced wireless settings) tab Change the Beacon interval to 75, Change the Fragmentation threshold to 2306, Change the RTS threshold to 2307 Now save settings. Power cycle all equipment restart Now PS3 works!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I got my configuration working and the Linksys phone support I just returned the new router I bought at wallmart and my old wrt54g router works great with the PS3. Hope this helps you guys

You freakin ROCK!
I've had nothing but probs with getting the "boot" while trying to update my games. I have the same router and just made those changes. Turned on the PS3 and performed a flawless update on MW2. I've been trying for over an hour tonight to update that game.
This needs to be a sticky at the top of the page!!! Would have saved me tons of wasted time

I was having the same problem setting up my PS3 using a WRT54G ver 6, router.. PS3 could not obtain an IP address. I updated the firmware and changed the router settings as you described and I am not having any problems so far... Thanks for posting that info..My mind was boggled until I read your post!
