I am planning to sell my PS3 so that I can afford a certain thing, but I will be buying the 500 GB PS3 later on when I can afford it. Since I won't have the PS3's at the same time, I won't be able to do a data transfer. However, I was wondering if it was possible for me to play my games with their original save data if I upload it to my PS Plus Cloud Storage. It would be preferable if I didn't have to throw away all my data in doing this.

Yes that is what the cloud storage is for, to make a backup of your game data in the event your console breaks or you need to change consoles...

I have wondered this too, when i upgraded to 500gb. It only lets you hold 250mb of data, and you need to subscribe to ps+ for at least 3 months, which is about $18, or you could get a 4gb flash drive, which holds more, lasts longer and can be reused for $5.

If you can download all your game saves on a flash drive, that is fine to do. However, some game saves may be copy protected and can only be stored on cloud storage...

PS+ got an upgrade to 1GB cloud storage.  1024MB, to be more precise.

Well if Cloud Storage works then it'll be fine. I only want to preserve my save files for Resident Evil 6 and the Ratchet HD Collection. The rest of my PS3 games I planned on playing through again anyways. Thanks for all the help everyone!
