Does anyone use one of these?  Is it a must?  Does it effect the screen in any way?

I use one. It will prevent scratching and hazing. You can not even tell it is on the screen if you apply it properly and get all the air bubbles out. I would highly recommend one.

I use the zagg screen protector.  Cant stand bubble or dust under the film; with zagg i can squeegee everything out and it looks perfect.

I use a generic clear screen protector. Keeps my Vita's screen looking great!

I bought a screen protector when I bought my Vita. The one made by Sony. It just covers the screen itself and not the part around the buttons. Doesn't affect my gameplay or how the image looks. Gotta keep that screen clear of scratches!
