Screen Alignment

7 replies 121 views Edited Aug 12, 2012
I messed up the screen setting when I first started my ps3. System restore and warm reboot (holding power button for three beeps) won't take me back as far as that original screen adjustment - when it shows you arrows at each edge of the screen and you adjust it to fit into your screen, not just resetting the video format. Is there a way for me to get back that far and reset the screen adjustment?

There is no overscan compensation in the PS3 OS. Which game did you do this adjustment on?

There was no game in the optical drive and nothing on the hdd. I had just taken the system out of the box, brand new. Now my menu screen and everything else is chopped off on the left side and bottom, exactly where I accidentally set it. I assumed I would be able to readjust it later.

It's not an overscan. It was an adjustment on the ps3 itself.

There seriously is no "Screen alignment" setting in the PS3.

Are you talking about RESOLUTION settings?

Nope. Tried all that. Did a factory reset on the whole system. Supposed to bring it back to out of the box settings. Did in every way but that one. I'm pretty computer savvy. New to ps3. Not new to gaming, or consoles. This happened. Others have had the same problem.

Then its an issue with your TV because the PS3 has no alignment setting.

Yep. That's what Sony says too. Maybe I dreamed it. That's actually pretty possible. Lol.
