The PS3 will work with SSD.

I do remeber they tested it and the speed increase was not that great, espcially compared to the cost of SSD's at the time.

(This was from a while ago). Not sure if newer firmware would take advantage of the faster speeds.

Games PS1 (100+), PS2 (140+), PS3 (100+), PSP (34+)

honestly.. i'm not sure if SSD is a good investment to put in PS3.. in such a late stage of the system life.

but i heard that SSD price is dropping lately.. less than $1 a GB.. ..   can PS3 support dual HDD??   LOL

I wouldn't bother with it, since you get far less storage for the money...

Its not... even now, the cost per GB is still well above what the hdd's are, and for negligible increase in speed.

The PS3, even under new firmware, is not going to take advantage of the benefits an SSD has compared to a PC.

Its just not going to happen for the PS3.

The PS3 was designed to run using hdd's, slapping an SSD in it is just a waste of money.
