Retail Vs Digital loading speeds.

2 replies 25 views Edited Mar 7, 2012

I read up on games like Wipeout having way longer loading times if installed to your memory card. Rather then getting the game card from the store. Any truth to this? And how much of a diffrence is there? I got money on my psn and dont want to get it if it effects game play alot. I would imagine it wouldnt be all that bad. Figured I would ask you guys first.

I would imagine a downloaded game would load faster if by ever so slightly.

Reality though the games regardless what medium you purchase them through they should load at around the same speed.

This is because all game data is stored in exactly the same manner regardless of how you store it.(Thank god for Sony finally seeing the light and doing away with those UMDs)
Even if it did affect your load times it couldn't possibly be enough to matter. Unless you have some horrible disease where you're going to die in the next 5 hours in which case I suppose every second counts but then why are you on the forums waiting for an answer?
