Our ps3 didn't get turned off properly (just plugged out) and now when we turn it on it says "restoring". 4 hours approx later and it's only on 11%. Confused... whys it so slow?
Welcome to the PlayStation Community.
I'm a little confused/worried, just unplugging your PS3 as a means to turn it off is not the way to go about this, you need to turn off the PS3 using the PS button on the controller & scrolling to the far left of the XMB & choose shut PS3 down, alternatively you can press the power/on/off button to do so.
I can only assume that your PS3 was not turned off correctly hence the restore process, depending on the amount of data on the PS3, game saves, pictures, videos, movies etc this process can take a long time.
