If you have a great enough PC you can get the PS2 emulator.  Another option would be to get a PS2, most people will sell it with games, extra controller, memory card and some other accessories for about 50 bucks, sometimes higher or lower depending on what's included and the extra value of some games. You can also ask any of your buddies if they are not using theirs, to possibly have it for free or if they can lend it to you.

You know, I've seen quite a few PS2s listed on craigslist for only in the $15 to $20 range.  They came with a controller, cables, memory card, and even looked in really nice condition.

Many were priced higher, but they eventually came down over time.
