Red Screen question

I currently have two PS3's, one has the disc reader busted, and recently i got the Red Screen on the other. I honestly dont have the money to pay for this and send it in and was thinking I could fix it myself.

Is it possible to replace things from my other PS3 with the one with the Red Screen issue, and if so does anyone know exactly what i'd need to replace?

Please use plain text.

Re: Red Screen question

It's best to let Sony take care of repairs like that.   If either of them still are under warranty opening the console up yourself at your place of residence to do what you are asking can and may VOID that warranty.  Also some "3rd party" repair shops also can void the warranty since they are not authorized by Sony to do the repairs.  In short leave it to them and call support and see how much it will cost to get one of them fixed the RIGHT way.
