So? Getting the patent doesn't mean they'll use it. You're already against it. They'll research and if the majority of the people are against it they probably won't use it. Or at the least there will probably be a way for you to turn it off.
Thats why Im bringing it up. If sony see that people dislike it they wont resort to use it wrong. Dont get me wrong. If they use it for something like Demos and game trials then I will be fine with it. But if im playing a game I paid $59.99 for I would be upset. Same with online if your playing cod clipping a person.. plz wait heres a advertisement. Then boom by then the time its gone you get killed in game. I wouldnt support it offline either. Like I said Demos and trials are fine. Even Playstation home would be fine. It just I supported sony for a long time. Ps1, Ps2, Ps3 and now I got a Vita. I know they are having problems with selling the Vita. Mostly because most games are ports that people own on Ps3. Though there are great games coming in the near future. If sony must use that method I would only prefer ads in pre game lobbies.
I have enough ads on my smartphone, TV and internet, why should I have to put up with them in my games? I pay $300 for a console, $50 bucks a game and $50 a year for Xbox Live or Plus. I've paid my dues, I deserve a somewhat ad-free entertainment experience. They take that away from me, I leave. Simple as that. I'm not being brainwashed to buy Axe body spray while playing Uncharted, or Mountain Dew and Doritos while playing Call of Duty. That's bull.
On twitter rumors are sony is thinking of upgrading its cloud based services by teaming up with a game streaming provider. Perhapse the ads haves something to do with that. Hopefully more info about it at E3.
