Today, when I went onto Playstation 3, I received 2 messages (By the same person, saying the same thing.). This person is not on my friends list, and I have never seen him, or heard of him. The messages had a code on it, and when I went to the "Redeem code" menu and entered in the code, a message appeared saying, "This Playstation Network Card has a value of $50.00. Would you like to add the funds to your wallet?" When I said yes, it said, "The funds could not be added to your wallet." I don't really mind missing out, because I would hate to steal $50 from someone, just in case they didn't mean to send it to me. Anyone know what's going on?
I wonder if its an attempt to phish for credit card numbers. Enter the code and when you try to add the funds to your wallet, it then links you to whoever sent you the code, giving them access to whatever credit card is associated with the account.
Not sure if it would work, but I wouldn't mess with the code. No one, and I mean NO ONE will give you money for no reason. Not out of the blue like that. There is no such thing as "winning a contest" you didnt enter. Its all a scam.
I no longer use this account to post, please see my posts under my "Sylon08" name. I only use this account for MW2. All other games will be under my "Sylon08" account, so feel free to add that name!
Did no one here look at these two topics below? It's just spam mail just ignore it. I mean the English is really horrible showing it's spam. Someone just bought a PlayStation Network card and publicly gave out the code (A clear violation of the Terms of Service. A bannable offense and illegal act.).
