I don't know very much about Ragnarok Odyssey. The only review I've seen on it wasn't very good. If you are a Monster Hunter fan, you might get more out of it than most gamers. From what I've read there is almost no story line past some basic fetch quests and repeated farming of the same areas over and over.
As for Persona 4 Golden. I did not play the original PS 2 version of Persona 4. But I have played Persona 3 FEP (and Persona 3 Portable) and Persona 2 Innocent Sin. Both are excellent games and I've heard nothing but praise for the original Persona 4. I would personally suggest Persona 4 Golden. At least if you're interested in a great story.

Err...Dunno.
As a MonHun lover I found myself turning up my nose while playing RO and scoffing "This isn't like Mon Hun at all." but on the other hand I played with my friend and he said "Yo this is totally MonHun". I'm only in chapter two but everything seems more face paced button mash than the tactical mastery of fighting wyverns in Monster hunter. There's farming but I never know what I need and what drops it. I'm sure it comes with time but the whole carving and observing on MH really shines in that aspect. It's fun so far but MH it is not.
Persona I can't say much on as I've heard its amazing but recently playing through the first game to catch up I got the bad ending and haven't had the motivation to play it again. (You gotta do it on hard mode ya know?) But jrpg will always be a jrpg so if you feel that way I'd say go for it.
I did read that RO has about 60 gameplay and it will have dlc so thats also a thing but so far there's much less investment on anything going on around you other than "Start mission, slaughter everything".

I do not trust Metacritic and I don't use Destructoid. I only use IGN and GI myself. Personal preference.

Yeah well, find a new source because IGN don't really know what they are talking about. They condemned RO for the things that make up the Monster Hunting genre. Furthermore. all those things they criticized are things present in all the MH entries as well as God Eater Burst and Phantasy Star Portable 2 and they all scored 7+. I wouldn't mind the low score if it'd have solid foundations but criticizing a monster hunting game for having to grind is like complaining about playing in first person in a FPS~.
That said, RO is an action game, P4: The Golden is a JRPG. You can't compare those two games, you pick based on which genre gives you the most fun~.

3 sites out of 1, oddly all around the same rating besides IGN. I don't trust a site that gave Fifa 13 for the Vita a 4 and recommended to buy it instead of Fifa Soccer. That is my personal preference.

As with any source, there are personal biases inherent within those reviews. I am not a Monster Hunter fan but I had been looking at this game with hopes it would be different. Since it's not, i would not find it to be a fun game and likely I would end up giving this a similarly low score. Especially based off my personal gaming preferences. I am primarily a story driven gamer. I do not mind quests but when that is all a game is, it gets dull.
When ti comes to games I do not usually base my decision solely off of them. But I have found that when it comes to most of the games that I do play, IGN tends to score them near enough to my own views. Metacritic on the other hand tends to be more biased, especially when it comes to the user reviews. Enough dsigruntled gamers can ruin a game's review there.
I admitted in my first post in this thread that I do not know much about the game. I also said that if you are a fan of the Monster Hunter series then a person might get more enjoyment out of it than most gamers. The Monster Hunter type games tend to appeal to some gamers a lot more than others. As with anything it is a matter of opinion.
