I think that Sony should continue their tradition of making their systems backwards compatible with their older console's software. I would love to be able to play my ps1, 2 and 3 games on my ps4. It's a letdown that the ps3 isn't able to play ps2 anymore, but it's something that I've learned to live with. The original ps3 was able to play both of the previous systems, and having this feature would make the ps4 have the largest game library in the history of the gaming industry.
BC is more expensive with every new system. The Ps3 architecture would have to be replicated by the Ps4, but the Cell CPU is not comparable with the one in the Ps4. Gaikai BC is the best bet at this point.

Gaikai bc would be acceptable since its essentially an emulator. It doesn't need to be 100%, but something would be better than nothing
I completely agree!

They mentioned Gaikai for BC in the future, so it looks like they're still working that out, or they're saving it for E3. It keeps people talking and speculating for months, why do you think they left us so dry. The event was just a tease so we'd stay talking about it for months.

Good news! Your PS3 is not going to explode when the PS4 hits stores.
