Ps4 and Playstation Vita ultimate bundle coming december 2013?

I just recently read this and I will give you guys the link to the site.

http://www.videogamer.com/news/ps4_and_playstation_vita_ultimate_bundle_coming_in_december.html

If this is true I am not gonna lie I am unhappy about the choice that sony is making, This makes the Ps vita look like nothing more then a controller for the Ps4.

While this will most likely do wonders for Ps4 and Ps vita sales, it just makes the Ps vita look like nothing but a failure. Like sony didn't even try to market the Ps vita as a stand-alone device. And to be honest they haven't,  It has been ages since I've seen a Ps vita commercial. When Uncharted Golden abyss and so many other good Vita exlusives came out, they had next to nothing in advertising.

When they cut the price down to 199$ where were the commercials telling people to go out and buy the Ps Vita. They claimed to be behind the system but the Ps vita has (and still is) taking a back seat to Ps3/Ps4, they let the thing rot for two years and showed no support,. And they wonder why it hasn't sold?

But despite all that the dedicated Ps vita user base stuck with there system of choice. In hopes that when Sony announced there next big game they would look our way. And this is the thanks we get. I still believe that Sony is a great company, But at this point they have all BUT abandoned the Ps vita.

I and many others got the Ps vita because Sony said that the Ps vita would be home Console quality on the go, they said the Ps vita would have it's own UNIQUE game line-up. games that you could only get on the ps vita.

Is this what they think of there Ps vita players? That we don't mind paying for another system just to get decent games. Is this what the Ps vita has become. the Ps4's "Ultimate companion" device?

No matter how much Sony tries to twist remote-play, those are Ps4 games. Not vita games, I got the Ps vita for VITA games. EXCLUSIVE games. It pains me to see this beast of a system reduced to nothing more then a Add-on controller.

This is basically the point where the Ps vita might lose all of it's game support. Why would developers bother making Ps vita games if they can just make it for the Ps4. I could be wrong But whenever Ps vita players ask for new games Sony's response is "You'll have the game On your vita. With remote-play with the Ps4" This might be the end of the line for Ps vita games, my fellow Ps vita gamers.

I know alot of people are going to disagree with me but I still want your thoughts and opinions. Just remember that while this is great for Ps4 gamers. This does nothing for the people who own the Ps vita and don't intead on buying a Ps4.

I agree about not wanting to have the vita just as a controller for the ps4.  However,  as it stands not many  publishers want to put games out on the vita due to low sales.  If they bundle this witha ps4 you may start seeing more promise for the system itself.  I am not gong to lie to you though.  I bought a vita the day it was released and only played 5-6 games on the system.  Since purchasing a ps4 I have used the vita virtually every day.  As I see it it can only make a stronger case for people to use it more often.  Thats never a bad thing.

You make good points, but It is up to sony to get developers on board for the Ps vita. When Sony ignores there own system, most developers Are going to ignore it to.

Forgetting your own system at E3 two times Is not support, Skiping over your brand new Ps vita system for TWO YEARS, for the Much older Ps3 that is already successful and does not need the games your giving It. Is not support.

As I have said before, Sony is a great company but they have done a bad job at marketing the Ps vita. The Vita dosen't even have it's OWN identity. It just "Remote-play with the Ps4" that is not good for a system that was supposed to be a stand-alone device.

Well maybe the increased Vita user base can motivate the developers to make games for the VIta, yes?

Exactly. OP, you're complaining about the lack of support for the Vita, yet now that Sony is doing something more to try and get more Vita's in peoples hands then you complain about that too. Who cares if some people only think it's a glorified PS4 controller? If the promotion works to get more units out there, that could encourage more devs to create games, and in the end it's good for everyone. Sony *has* promoted the Vita in the past and didn't do so well, so what's wrong with trying something new? There are plenty of other methods of advertising and promotion besides TV commercials.

I also agree.  This bundle esures a much wider userbase - which creates demand for games.  It's that simple.

if most people only start buying the Ps Vita for remote-play, Devs will just make games for the Ps4 and tell V

ita owners to remote-play it. that's the point I'm trying to make.

You have to remember Most Vita owners don't even own a Ps4,  just like most Ps4 owners don't own a Ps Vita. Remote-play is only good for people who own both, Are you telling me you would not be upset if you got a system that was ignored by the company who made it?

I have gamed on both home and portable consoles, And during all those years. There has been only one thing that makes people buy video game consoles and that is GAMES.

Some gimmicks may catch on and help with sells. but almost no one is going to buy a game console with know games. The nvidia shield's main selling point was it's android operating system, and remote-play with Pc's. Look how that turned out, Android players didn't want it because it had know GAMES to justify spending 250$ on it, the games it did have.

Android players could already get on there phone, Pc players thought remote-play was cool but once again, the Shield didn't have any system selling GAMES. So even with all the MILLIONS of Pc players most didn't want the shield just for remote-play.

The only good thing that came of that was the fact that Nvidia were not expecting to make a large profit, So the loss was not to bad

I don't want the Ps vita to end up just like the shield, a great system that never realized it's full potential.

Here's how I see it (this is just my viewpoint)

The Vita's current status is much like that of an economic recession.

In economic recession, people save their money, and so they don't spend it. Businesses make no money, and therefore cut jobs/wages, so peole have less money, so they save more money, and it just spirals.

In the same way: The Vita isn't getting console quality games, so people aren't buying it. Because people aren't buying it, developers aren't making any console quality games for it, and it just spirals.

So this bundle can act as a sort of "stimulus package", to help boost Vita user base.

That's just how I see it anyway. Leaving things as they are now won't help.

It might sell, hopefully they limit this to small quantities. The Vita isn't a must buy device. Adding to a bundle that while adds vale would be at least $550.

Too expensive, I don't care the value, the price is over $500, didn't they learn from the PS3 that expensive items don't sell well?

I do want more vitas sold to get more software but I think this is the wrong way to go about it. Another revision in hardware and moneyhatting games is the way too increase the uiser base.
