Just got OFF the phone with a SONY tech....and they have identified several issues with the separate PSN STORE update (there were 2)....which they apparrently fixed while i was on the phone....and now i am back on. Problem solved. Thank you to Xuchilbara for trying.
BTW - @Xuchilbara...frustration not aimed at you....was replying to Undertaker and you got caught in the crossfire (my BAD).
i am having this same exact problem... but mine wasn't fixed. WTH!!! was i left behind or something? any help would be appreciated
i am trying to access PSN STORE....and it says....
"To use this feature, you must first download software. Do you want to download now? Yes or No."
....i click on Yes and it says....
"An error occurred during the download operation (80710011)."
....anyone else experiencing this....?? BTW - i am running the latest firmware update 4.31.
Heres how I got in, Click on the Playstation Plus entry point instead, it went in told me I had to download the update, downloaded without a problem then when it got to the Playstation Plus page I just exited back to the normal store. WOOHOO I had the same problem after updating I was unable to to access the store, one person suggested removing all temp files, cache, cookies etc, but after trying still nothing so give this a go instead.
Ok, my problem was a combination of the 80710011 error and another error when I tried to install the store after getting new updates. Here is what I noticed, and hopefully this will help you get through stuff. Also posting this for posterity, since this post is a bit old.
1. 80710011 - Someone suggested hitting the yes button quickly. After starting the PSN Store, I just started mashing the button, and it got me past the 80710011 error.
After that, I kept getting another error when it would download the new store. First it would go over 100% download, and then would error out at about 14% of the install. If that happens do this:
1. Go to your Game Tab and delete any 'Corrupt Data' you see there.
2. Go back to the store and try and download.
3. If the download goes over 100%, back out and repeat step 1 and 2 until it works.
NOTE: I also did a system reboot after about 5 attempts in that sequence, so you may try that if it isn't picking up right away.
