looks like a bunch of people need to grow up,you wouldn't want to change your name if you would have actually thought about it for a few minutes when setting it up..
So many people just got in a rush when setting up their account and now want Sony to come in and fix peoples stupidity...blame yourself because Sony isn't going to let this happen..
Hmm, let's see. PSN has been around for almost 8 years. People's maturity, likes and interests change in 8 years. What someone chose as a name when they were 16 and in highschool doesn't mean that they still want that ID when they're 24 and possibly a professional.
There's also the fact that Sony doesn't allow you to create an account if you already used that same name on SOE (Sony Online) and doesn't allow you to log in with that SOE account on PSN. Either fully link both systems or fully unlink them.
There are many reasons why people might want to change their name. The other guys have allowed it for years as a paid service. You can go to court and have your name legally changed. You're the one who's being shortsighted and can't phantom that there are legitimate reasons that someone might want to change their name.
If you ashamed of your account then make another, they are free.
People who been banned and shunned for being D-bags need to be known or sacrifice their trophies if they want a fresh start.
trophies mean as much as a pile of dog poop, if you really dont like your ID or been blacklisted just make another and dont be a **bleep** next time.
Is there any legit excuse to want to change your ID besides not liking the name or to unblacklist yourself? If so please do tell.
Lots of people made a name for themselves, when that name is mud they want a new id, thats bs, act right or start over is pretty fair IMO.
Finally, the structure of my question is that you would have to disprove every possible outcome to be correct and I would just have to have one that would likely be beneficial. That's statistically in my favor by quite a bit.
changing the psn id should not be allowed it tells you when you make it that you will not be able to change it so just make a new one if you dont like your name
It says that now, but it did not back in the day. Regardless of that fact, it should be implemented or give us the Japanese work around. If they fear people going nuts with changing their names, then put a set limit on how many times you can change your name. Maybe once or twice every six months to a year. What I don't personally understand is that we have a community of 'GAMERS' who don't want an OPTION added. That's where I get lost in the sauce at. Doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
