I couldn't agree more I got my PS3 when they first came out and i was 16 then i didnt think about setting up a username that i couldnt ever change so i just made it my real name not thinking about anything. i hope they do give us the option to change our PSN names
I've been wanting to change my ID, so I hope they actually look at this forum and give us that ability.
No one at Sony that makes decisions or has influence looks at these forums for decisions to make on the console. This is just a forum where gamers talk about whatever topics come up. If you want to make an impact you have to contact Sony directly, posting here will accomplish nothing.
That pretty much means that there will be more stock available for those who have pre ordered in the UK.
This is how this is going to work since it is a staggered world wide launch.
1. The first initial wave of systems to hit the market are being produced to fill demand for the US to fill all of the pre orders here. There is a cut off point where they stop making consoles for the first wave of US sales.
2. The US sales launch happens and all the consoles produced for that time frame are spoken for and taken leaving a gap in supply for a few weeks while it takes production time to catch up.
3. During the first wave of production for the US launch the cut off point was reached for production for the US launch and focused more on the launch in other areas such as the UK and Japan.
4. Once all areas have their initial launch production can now begin for all area's and usually takes a few months for supply to catch up with demand but by early start of the new year shelves will start to see consoles more and more on a regular basis.
This is why after the US launch there is a lull in supply, b/c shortly after the US launch there are other parts of the world that have their launch coming up and production is focused more on those areas to meet their initial supply demand. This also creates hype for the console which push's more sales b/c anytime something is in short supply more people want it. Then more heavy top AAA games start to come out to push more console sales.
