Does the internet test pass? Make sure you always powercycle the modem. Unplug 30secs then plug back.

yeah internet and ip pass, just PSN fails

Wow this is pretty strange. It's as if your isp is blocking ports. You might want to contact them and ask them if they are blocking any of these ports. TCP: 80, 443, 5223 and UDP: 3478, 3479.

ok well I got it working, I can sign in PSN

but now I cannot connect to any of my friends online :/

Like LBP2 or assassins creed brotherhood

is there any possible reason for this?

oh and i can connect to random players on both games

How did you get it working? You might want to try enabling upnp on your router or forwading ports. List your router's brand and model number if you need any additional help

my ps3 had the wrong password autosaved so when it would try to log in it would fail so i just changed it to the real password and boom i logged in >_>

and sure ill try doing that stuff

my router is linksys and the # is WRT54G2 V1.5

EDIT: ok for some reason it decided to connect all of a sudden, so its working now

I'm still having trouble I can't login into PSN for the 3.60 update so I did it manually, I have internet, youtube etc but no PSN for black ops

Try connecting your PS3 directly to your Internet modem, not router. Come back and tell us if it works.
