I'm writing this post because I want to know if there will be some kind of trade-in program for the PS4. I currently have the PS3, but I want the PS4 when it comes out. I know that Nintendo did that when they came out with the WII U; you could trade in your old WII for credit towards the WII U you were buying.
The other factor to consider is backwards compatibility. Will the PS4 be backwards compatible with PS3 games? If it's not then there's no point in trying to sell my PS3 or trade it in for credit towards the PS4. Any information on this would be very helpful.

the PS4 will not play ps3 disks but will play ps3 games downloaded from the store ONLY...and if they even did have a trade you only get a few bucks for it basically after they knock their high markup price down to where if you went somewhere that didn't have the trade in you could had got it for the same price....
