So what happened.. it's unnerving when maintenance takes longer than normal.

+1, I was planning on playing some games tonight online, but it's still under maintenance. Going to bed early!

Thats not the Problem with the PS Store I had...

Avatars & Themes were messed up, Add-Ons were not under Games, they were jumbled around...

Games were all over the Place...

I hate the A-Z Search Tool...

You claim they fixed the 8 Catagory thingy, but I still see it there...

Mind you that the Old Store ran A lot Faster, & it had different Layouts, unlike how this one only has 1 Layout that I've noticed so far...

The only thing wrong with the Old Store was the Videos...

--------------------

They claim it's faster & easier to Search now, then before... But that is a Lie, because I can't find anything I look for anymore...

Before I used to be able to find things so fast...

And their A-Z Seach Tool takes forever to use, it laggs, & this New Store is just Buggy as heck...

Sometimes I get Errors kicking me out of the Store, & crap, saying it errored out or timmed out, or something....

Other times, I wander if my Funds are going to go through with a Purchase, or if i'm going to hit & Error, & get screwed over...

I just plain do not like the New Store...

-----------------------------------

Another Problem with the PS Store is that when you perform Searches, you don't always find what you want, even though, you know it's there... For instance, if you type Resident Evil in, you will not even find the 6th Game Listed on the Selection Area...

Or at least it wasn't, I dunno if they fixed that, or not... but I mean this New Store kinda sux...

They are trying to fix it, but really, i'd rather they didn't fix it, & just try something else....

The new store now runs at identical speeds to the old store, if it doesn't for you then upgrade to a better internet provider. Since the recent update items and pages load with ease, almost instantly. The store we upgraded from had one layout, I don't think you know the difference between a layout and a background image that spruced up the older store because it was so bland and outdated in design.

The store is faster and easier to search, this all comes down to how well accustomed to it you are, I find everything I need faster in this store than I did the other. It has everything to do with the user taking the time to get to know how to navigate through the store to get to a specific piece of content in the fastest way possible. Which I simply learned by experimenting with it.

I have not once come by one error in the store. I've had timeouts from the network while having something download and install while still having the store open during the process, that's normal. If you're not actively navigating the store or using it for a while you timeout from the network because no data packets are being transferred between your console and the network.

When doing searches throughout the store the available content extends far beyond the "Top Results" section. Just incase you didn't know, all of the content below the first few items that show up during a search is also content relevant to your search, it's just content that has yet to become a "top result" for the reasons that not many are searching it because it's either not high in demand or it's actually a newly released game.

All-in-all instead of continuously making it clear that you don't like the new store, learn how to use it. Any interface can be used with ease, you just have to master it, take it as a challenge over viewing it as a set back and time consumer. It isn't going anywhere, might as well learn to love it.

I will have to agree with others that even though they say the new store layout is faster, it really isn't any faster than the old layout.  I've taken the time to try to figure out how to search for things with the new layout and yet it still doesn't seem like it includes everything I'm looking for.  I remember when there was a tab on the side for free content, which is no longer there.  I remember how we were able to shift between an icon for the game/addon/movie what not to a description, to a price with the icon.  Now you only have one option as to how to looik it up.  We used to be able to look up things by the genre of games.  Now not so much so.  The only way to look up an item by title, instead of click on an icon for PS3 games, then the letter in the alphabet, and scrolling down to find it; you have to go to the search magnifying glass.  We have to nearly enter every single letter of the game just to find it.  Sometimes we still don't find the content we are looking for.   I've also seen that they've removed a lot of content from the store as well such as add on's, DLC, or what not.  This is upsetting when a person is trying to finish a game (100% trophies) and yet to do so, you need the DLC, which is no longer available.  Then again, I'm not one for change.  I'm not sure why companies feel the need to change everything all the time.   Yes its nice when there are updates to it so that it might be easier for a person to look up content, or have more content, or have more information about content.  But keep the layout the same.  I'd vote for bringing the old layout back, just update the content of the layout.

Re: Playstation 3: PS Network Maintenance?

I don't remember the version 1.2 update to use it when I was on it 2 days ago, did I miss something? Try going on to the network it will require an update to the software (Playstation Network) and will lockup after completing the download & going to the store, O won't go back. Now it won't be back up til 4:00 p.m. CDT. Good thing I don't have codes to redeem or anything for my new games. This is becoming a sick joke. Let me know if this occurs to anyone else.

Re: Playstation 3: PS Network Maintenance?

I say the playstation network maintenance should be during the overnight hours or at least have back-up server for playstation network & playstation home while the main server is being tuned-up or serviced. Who is tired of waiting for the psn maintenance to complete!!o_O

Re: Playstation 3: PS Network Maintenance?

[ Edited ]

Actually, your wrong... You might not realize the Store being Slower, because your Connection is faster then mine... Or maybe your in a better area, but I have like the fastest Internet in my area, & I have 100% Connection...

I'll admit my Connection is not the greatest, I don't have 15 second Download Speeds for 5 GB of Content...

But I know the difference between Lag...

And it's nice that you can find stuff, just because you can find something, doesn't mean everyone can...

Every single Letter I put in the Seach field takes like .05 to .15 seconds, or whatever, because of it lagging...

Actually every Button I press has that result...The old store did not do that for me...

And as I said before, not everything can be found by simply typing in a Seach field...

Half the time, I need to use the Catagory thingy to find crap...

The Point is, I don't want them to fix the Store, I want a New Store, or at least go back to the Old one...

Honestly, I gave up on the PS Store... I am not using it anymore...

I will make 1 last Attempt to work it out for GTA 5, & then i'm pretty much just going to forget about it,

& move on...

Hey, Yo, Waaaaazzzzuuupp!!! ..........................................................................................................................................

Playstation 4
.................
From what I understand, PS4 is no more Powerful then a PS3 Slim, & no Backwards Compatibility, & yet it still costs $400...

On top of that, It now supports X-Box Live, @_@...

Am I missing something, or does it sound like it's over Priced?

It just sounds like we are paying for the Graphix, of which we might not even enjoy as the TV's it supports are way over Priced themselves... @_@

Re: Playstation 3: PS Network Maintenance?

The network is still down here.  I tried signing in and it said its still undergoing maintenance, and its 3:30 pm.  I thought they were going to be done at 7:30 am this morning.  For about an hour or so, the forums were undergoing maintenance last night as well.
