"Call of Duty to be a "game changer" for the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Vita's operating system to compete with Apple's iOS, Gears of War 3 delivers epic DLC offering, and more. Nick's Gaming View Episode #64 is fully loaded with this week's latest gaming news during the midst of PlayStation Vita's launch."
I've played with the iphone, ipod touch and ipad at the apple store and the vita's touchscreen is totally on par with those devices which are at the top of smartphone touchscreens. The screen quality of the vita is apple quality again known for being second-to-none. The vita can compete with an apple product very easily it's just will sony let it allowing apps that have use like apple has. We'll see.........
This is Apples and Oranges.
Apple is doing well with the iOS for phones and tablets, they win in that area. As for the OS Apple would win, it's a 1000x more robust BUT for gaming it will loose.
For gaming I would never choose an iPad for first person shooters, racing or serious gaming, that is the VITAs domain. Games are fun on the Apple stuff but pure touch screen isn't going to ever replace a game console. (Don't get me wrong, time killer games like Angry Birds is great fun on the iPad but . . . )
That is what I have come to the conclusion of. Sony has plenty of potential with the Vita OS and can absolutely compete with Apple's iOS, they just need to find a way to compete with Apple's broad range of applications.
