Re: PlayStation App updated to v.1.60

Fantastic! Glad Sony is still updating and supporting the official app. Was a bit afraid out was going to be stuck in limbo like the Europe app was a few years back. While it's great to have the Live with PlayStation function, I'm hoping for a Party Chat function.  Can you imagine? Always being able to chat vocally with your friends anywhere would be pretty cool, as if it was like Skype or phonecall. I mean, we have been able to see and accept party chat invitations through the app but really can do the function until we get on our PS4.

It won't even find or wake up my PS4 if my PS4 is connected to the internet via Ethernet cord instead of WiFi, why is that? I hate that the app opens a separate browser for the store and no in-app code redemption?

This is going to sound like an odd question, but, is the phone wirelessly connected to the same router that your PS4 is plugged into, and/or wirelessly connected to?

Possible firmware update

[ Edited ]

Nothing concrete, but we may be seeing the new firmware 1.60 update that has been rumored very soon. The iOS Playstation app, previously on version 1.50, has just been updated to version 1.60. Hopefully a sign that the new firmware for the console will drop soon!

Yes it is connected to the same network over Wifi . I've even tried it over 3G and it still cant see the PS4.

Yep I just tried it... It obviously still connects, just not automatically. It happened to me last night, I wanted to check the store and it booted up the playstation without me wanting it to. This is a welcome update

Of course I did that.  I thought the app was advertized as being capable of interacting with the PS4 from just about anywhere and different networks but It doesn't even work even on my own home network.
