Dear members of the PlayStation 3 Forum!,
In the last weeks there were numerous threads posted about the HDD of the PlayStation 3. Here’s another one.,
At first here’s the answer to your question: Because if I had posted it in an older thread no one would read it. By posting it in a new one maybe a few people will read these lines.,
I can’t understand how Sony will establish an “entertainment system in my living room” without a HDD. Where should I copy my photos, music, videos and so on, if not on a HDD? On a memory stick that costs more then a HDD? What’s up with downloadable content or MMORPGs? Of course I (and a few others) will buy the PS3 HDD but that will not be enough for developers to release downloadable content for their PS3 games. I can’t remember any “hardware add-on” that had enough success, to create great support for it. By the way, the PlayStation 2 HDD wasn’t even released in Europe. Sony sold about 400,000 to 500,000 PS2 HDDs (source: http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager.offset=0&cId=3
If my English would be better I would start a petition on petitiononline .com I don’t think that this would convince Sony but it would be interesting to see how many people would sign it.,
Thanks for reading this far.,

i agree, but who knows, sony may suprise us...anyways, i dont play mmorpgs or anything where i would need the HDD...and if you need somewhere to put pics and music, try getting a computer. it can do more things than a ps3 and is the same price! amazing!,

Actually, a computer with the PS3's specs costs a lot more than $400.
Anyways, the HDD would be usefull but I'm ok with buying it seperate.

,,Gamers will have a chance to unravel this mystery when Chains of Promathia becomes available this fall. Soon, the world of Final Fantasy XI,will become bigger and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Square Enix, has also announced that Europe will be joining Vana'diel before the, year is out. This whole massively multiplayer thing is really beginning,to live up to its name.
you have lost 110% credbilty now ,,the hdd was released over in europe. i kno ppl who have purchased the,ps2 european version of ffxi , so no i don't mean the pc version i mean, the ps2 version.
