So I was trying to load a 50$ American Express Gift Card from Christmas onto my ps3, but it says the the information is invalid. I then proceed to buy a plus code from Amazon with the same code, but it did not work due to insufficient funds. I check my balance and Sony took out 1$ for AVS. I didn't even add any fund because it wouldn't let me? and they still charge me a dollar and now my amazon order won't go through? Can someone help explain what happened

Maintenance was finished on Saturday.
Then the multiple people on here and around the web reporting they still can't sign in means that the issues we've had with the network the past few days were not caused by maintenance like we're told. The Black Ops 2 and NBA 2K13 servers were giving me issues yesterday and today, how do you explain that?

I'm pretty sure Gift Cards are not accepted by PSN.
The $1.00 charge was a security check to make sure the card was registered, not reported stolen & had suffucient funds etc, it will be returned to you in a few days.

Actually last week I used my American Express $100 gift card from Christmas. It charged $1.00 yes, but it brought this new avatar.
