How have you tried to pair it?

Usually just plugging in the USB charge cable to controller and PS3 and pressing PS button works.  But you may need to press the reset button on the bottom of the controller, then plug in and press PS button.

It wont sync up until you turn it on by USB through his PS3, THEN you can go wireless.

I'll try that with the reset button if I find it.

It's a small pinhole reset button on the bottom of the controller.

If it doesn't work, then I'm not sure what else to try.  Maybe controller is bad?

k that didn't seem to work, I think what I pressed was the reset button.

EDIT: Nevermind, we got it to work, the thing I was using to press the reset button with wasn't pushing it found something else and now it works, thanks for the help

I tried every option, sat there for hours trying different ways to pair 2 new controllers. Then my wife gets the PS3 box out, looks inside and there was the original USB lead. It worked 1st time!
