Guys, you're only gonna get PS2 classics on the PS3. Waiting for PS2 support for the Vita... you might as well be waiting for PC support.. or XBOX support, Nintendo 3DS support. It's all about as likely.

I've only bought MGS and FF7 so far for my PS1 classics. But I also have Warhawk which came with Starhawk, but I'll never play that game on the Vita as its sooo bad.

But MGS and FF7, I've stopped playing for quite some time as I'm waiting to be able to play it on the Vita. Then I'll think about getting other games like FF8-9. I  wish EU store (by which I mean NZ Store) had Chrono Trigger/Cross or even Vagrant Story. Another one from SE I'd like to see would be Ehrgeiz.

That would kick **bleep** as long as they actually start adding some good titles to that PS2 sub heading of the store. That portion has been increasingly ignored since they have been doing those HD remakes.

I am glad that the Vita can play PS1 classics with that update. I wonder if Sony will make PS2 classics playable on the Vita.

Yes, PS1 classics are universal, buy on one device, play on any device that supports it.

Though you are limited in the number of devices to which you can download them to. For example PSP games can only be downloaded to two different devices. I don't know how will it work with PS1 classics but I'd check that first least you find yourself unable to get them on your Vita because you already downloaded them on your PS3 and PSP~.
