The PSP2 renders at 1920x1088?
If that's true, it's not even fair that they're comparing the PSP2 with the PS3. At that point, it would seem that rendering at nearly twice the resolution of a PS3 game at 20FPS would be more impressive than the PS3 rendering a 1080p image at 60FPS.
Also, bad idea with the trackpad assuming that there IS a touchscreen. I don't want to fumble the back of the PSP during a game while controlling 12 other buttons. The analog/joysticks and buttons stick out more prominently, which seems like a concern for sticking into my pocket or a bag. Other than the size, probably weight, and first-looked-like-a-neo-retro-PSP-1000 appearance, I might actually get one when it is released. And for its size, it better have a damn good amount of built-in flash memory.
Ah, double the PSP's current resolution. I just skimmed through the video released by Gamespot, and the video presented there also said "4x the resolution", so I can see where Engadget pulled that from.
Fantastic post, by the way. This seems like a lucid dream right now, and I figure that if I early adopt the PSP2 as I did with the PSP I could be buying in to superior quality of future revisions, as seen by all three of the PSP revisions.
I put away $600 for this. I'm going to get the WIFI+3G version since coverage is great in my area. Plus get Uncharted and killzone on release....can't wait till midnight release.
Don't talk trash and hide behind your computer screen. Man up and confront them face to face.

you could use the back touch pad for l2/R2 i don't see why developers would not go with that opiton. Maybe a sign of possible PS2 classics? ( that might make people who only like PS3 and not handhekds get one)

i wonder if it would be able to play World of Warcraft on it? it has internet, touchpad and a good engine. I think this should be possible and a cool addition. probably never gonna happen but some hackers will be able to do this though.
