PSP vs PS3 Wi Fi

5 replies 14 views Edited Nov 27, 2006
does anybody know if the ps3 wi/fi signal is stronger then the psp one? sorry if already been
asked before, but im still saving up for my 60gig ps3. my psp wi/fii signal is like 60% in my room
so i was wondering if it would be more with the ps3 wifi. i got a linksys wrtg54 router (no a very strong signal)
but just wondering if the ps3 wifi signal would pick it up beter then the psp one. thanks!

you need to buy a signal extender from radio shack It's a larger antenna and will give you a better signal.

and dont worry youre gonna hate the online service (or lack there of). But resistance would be great if you could change the maps without having to start a new room.
GOOD LUCK

The PS3 firmware for Wi-Fi is busted at the moment. So, it's worse than the PSP, which already had very poor range and a weak radio.

Whatever... hahahahah... I've had the psp outside my apartment probably about 100 ft. away on the opposite side of the bulding playing Socom: FTB just fine, no lag of any kind...  I love how these web 'techies' know everything...  ahahahah  Plus, the PSP uses "B" not "G" like the PS3.  Of course you need a better router to take hold of these.  My opinion, get a wireless N router.  D-Link, Linksys, and Belkin I know carry wireless "N" routers.  They are backwards compatible with "G" and "B".

PS3 Wifi speeds will be faster because it uses a different type of WiFi setting than the PSP.  PSP max is 11 Mbps while the PS3's is the max standard of 54Mbps.
