Just picked up a PS3 few weeks ago and loving it but was looking at the PSP because of the killer games and was curious if you thought the PSP or vita would be a way to go.
Feel free to add me as a friend. Just put "playstation forums" in the friend request.
Grats, dude! You made a godo choice. I haven't bought anything new Sony since PS2, but decided to treat myself to a PSP this Christmas since I missed Sony quality games. And I've been loving every minute. Dissadia 012 is really fun.
so, i overlooked it, until my brother got me gamestop giftcard, I purchased a new one and I already ff7 on the psn, so I gave it a shot
and the psp is one of my fav purchases, since I am always on the go, so i feel the same way.
You will find that despite all the fantastic bells and whistles on the PS Vita, the PSP 3000 is still a more supported system. Games are dirt cheap. You can still download from the PSN Store. You can find memory cards for far cheaper than the Vita memory cards. It's very easy to add music and movies to you cards to enjoy on the road. The PSP can connect to a TV (TV Out) so you can watch UMD and mp4 movies on the bigger screen (the PS Vita can't and won't be able to do this according to Sony). You can play PSOne Classics on the PSP, which is very limited on the PS Vita.
And you can get a PSP 3000 for less than $100 from Amazon and Best Buy. The PS Vita's cheapest unit is $250, and even if you buy it in a bundle, you still have to purchase more memory, a case, and whatever else you need. $150 gets you out the door with the PSP, a great case, additional memory, TV out cables, and everything else you need. There's no comparison on price.
You can get games and movies for super cheap (UMD) through GameStop and Amazon. You can buy whole game collections on EBay for less than $100. It's the better deal by far.
