PSP Replacement AC Adaptor

8 replies 2300 views Edited Jul 14, 2010

The one I got with my 3001 has "PSP-380" on it and is 1500mA.  Will the AC adaptor that is marked "PSP-100" with 2000mA work with it?  Does anyone know what the difference is?

Thanks--

As long as it's 5V DC with the correct sized plug and center positive polarity it will work.

There is nothing special about the PSP charger. Any 5V DC power supply should be fine. My rabbit chewed up my girlfriend's PSP adapter and I gave her an Olympus 5VDC/2000mA supply that I had laying around and it works great.

Your RABBIT?    Haven't heard that one (I'm a teacher . . . have heard some good ones . . . .)

Thanks.  Thought I might have bought the wrong one.

Oh--happy birthday a bit early.

It does, the higher the mA the better for a charger. the psp 3000 charger is smaller because the PSP 3000 has a weaker powered battery.

btw 1500mA is actually 1.5 amps, so any power brick that can provide 5VDC @ 1.5A is ok.

Thanks!  Smiley Happy  Unfortunately I have to work on my birthday.

And yea, bunnies like to chew. Mine is particulary fond of wires. I'm still pretty pissed about that. GF was watching him for me for a few days and she let him run around her house unsupervised. Luckily he only chewed up speaker wires and the low voltage PSP charger. I still cringe when I think what would have happened if he had chewed a 120V AC cord.

Just try it.. it should work. Ive had a PSP 1000, a Star Wars PSP 2000 And a GoW PSP 2000. I interchanged chargers constantly. Worked for me!

Hey, my hamster ate my cable too. I came to this post by chance, looking for advice on how to replace the charger and I Loled!
