I got psp 1001 Refurbished for 70.00 at this new games store that open in Toledo Ohio called replyoftoledo Refurbished . It like a gamestop but cheaper games and systems I thinks is better than gamestop because the psp 1000 was 99.99. replyoftoledo was 69.99. OK I got home check and see was the psp working and I went to check the update it was 2.71. now IM trying to update but everytime I connect my psp to the my internet. It keep on saying exchanging key information. Than it said a connection error has occurred. what does that mean. what should i do.

It sounds like it is looking for your information relating to: Name, address, etc. Have you set it up so you can use it on the internet? If not you'll need to scroll all the way across to the right and click on account management. Do this and retry. Let me know if this works for you.

you may have to disable the password on wi-fi long enough to get update I get never get psp's to connect to (WEP) mine until I've gotten it updated. After mine are updated they have no problem with wep

You could also transfer the system update to your PSP.

i just recently pulled my 1001 out of the dust. (not literally of course)

and i have some games that i dl from psn on my ps3. (final fantasy iv for psp)

and i need that update.

problem is not the download, but when i run the update, it gets to the screen where it says installing, and then it says

memory stick cant be read.

but its in there and it shows up obviously i accessed it to run the file.

im frustrated.

Wait you payed 70 dollars for a Psp 1000 ? Dude you got ripped off where I live for 99 you can get a 3000. I payed 40 cash for my silver psp 3000...

Check dates . OP was 2.5 years ago. I don't know if it was a good price then, but certainly more reasonable than these days.
