I'm having the same problem.

I called Sony, there was an automated messege saying that they were having various problems with the Playstation Network, and are currently working on a solution.

What worries me the most is the crashing of the system when trying to simply shut it down.

Nope, not just the East Coast. I'm here in Phoenix, AZ and have been unable to sign in. Internet is fine (obviously) but I guess we'll just have to wait until they fix whatever the issue is.

My friends are just taking forever to load and I can't look at my trophy card.. I thought that last update was a stability update, seems so much less stable now..

Southeast USA here and I started having this problem around noon today.  Everything was functioning normally before that.  I've now been waiting 20 mins and only about an eigth of my list has showed up.

It's happening to me too. I thought it had something to do with the 4.31 update.

i just clicked to refresh my trophy card and it says i have 0 trophies now  something is afoot!
