Today when i signed in it was all going fie but my friends on my friend list are loading so slow can someone tell me whats going on is psn having problems

I'm having the same problem.  And twice today my ps3 has done the beep beep beep shut down when shutting it down normally.

I was wondering if it had anything to do with Sandy since I'm in NJ and just got power back today or if the servers in NJ/NY area were under water and what not.

Trying to figure out if it's my internet or my ps3 or my ups or sandy or something else.  :/

Call of Duty players - Hurricane Sandy affecting Activision's east coast servers, may affect connectivity: & any other games connectivity will be slow & ur friends list will slowly but surely start to show up but yes the server on east coast is gettin hit hard so u are right i"m sure it's affecting upper east coast ps3 users & possibly canada servers to be slow...

its not sandy i live in hamilton alabama top nw corner and am having the same problem also have friends in cali having the same problem hope its not another hack
