I just bought my PS3 (80 GIG version, no backwards compatability) and I'm experiencing this problem as well.
I connect wirelessly to my Linksys router.
I noticed this issue has been around for over a year.
It seems pretty hopeless.
I know it's not my connection because Xbox Live and my laptops run smooth as silk.
What the hell?! I can't play Super Street Fighter for very long before I get booted and can't sign back in for like 10min. And I'm not gonna even get started on CoD: WaW.
Wish I had bought those two games for Xbox. This is such a huge disappointment. This along with the lack of backwards compatability has totally soured my experience with Sony.
Did you know that 360 degrees is a circle, nobody wants to go around in circles thats just dumb.
Seems like most M$ products end in DEATH. Red Rings of Death, Blue Screen of Death, Zune Logo of coma. HMMM.
Now,I have the same problem along with 8002A548, I live in Ireland, use Irish Broadband which is radio internet (with a reciever on the roof),it's not the best internet but it works with PC no problem,I also used to have X360 and had no problems with Xbox Live,I could play COD 4 for hours , my X360 since died and I went for PS3,had no problems till around july/august and after firmware update it all went down the drain.I consider myself lucky if I get connected at all or am able to play full match of COD 5.All that talk about routers seems to me like drawing attention away from real cause. My friend is IT specialist and tried everything, including plugging straight into internet modem, that didn't work better. So what's the story, for all people with same problem please state your Internet Service Provider and country you're from,I am considering changing my ISP but want to know if people get same problem with other providers : BT,Eircom,NTL etc. I have nothing against Sony, I had PSX,PS2,PSP i now have PS3 but I really would like to play online,I miss my X360 and Xbox Live ,you had to pay for it but at least it worked.
I've been getting this frequently for over a month now, I've come to the conclusion that its my ISP disagreeing with the PSN (im on orange) due to the same problem being reported by other orange users. I've tried all these possible solutions and get the exact same problem on both wired and wireless set ups so Im gonna switch ISP a month from now and that should fix the dilemma.
I have also been seeing this problem for several months now. After viewing post after post about this problem it would seem that it is a fairly large issue but I can't see any response from Sony anywhere...not even acknowledging there is even an issue. I've tried everything posts have suggested with Port Forwarding, DMZ, disabling UPnP, enabling UPnP, disabling Media Sharing, enabling Media Sharing.
I have a Belkin N1 Vision but I'm not convinced that this is router problem. Anyone from Sony out there?
