PS4 + PS Vita = wii u similarities?

Imagine that you can operate the PS Vita like a controller, similar to the Wii U and play shooters, sports games etc;.  I think that would be cool...

Id rather just use a controller.

New to PS Vita & PSN. Add me if you want to play anything. I have: Black Ops Declassified, Assasins Creed: Liberation, NFS:MW, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, WipEout 2048 and Gravity Rush.

After playing Batman Arkham City on the Wii, I still prefer a regular controller as well.  If it was a possibility, that would be pretty cool.  I'm sure there would be tons of gamers using their Vita as a controller for certain games...

I think it would be nice to be able to have my Vita for in-game chat, inventory, maps...but I really wouldn't buy a game or a console for fluff like that.  Remote play will never be a true reality with the Vita for ALL games because the Vita and PS3/PS4 have different controllers.  This is why the Wii U's wireless controller works for remote play better than the Vita with a PS3 does.

I prefer to have great games that rely on the Vita and the Vita alone, not gimmicks.

I think this will happen, but it will be optional. As long as developers are making a WiiU version, why not take advantage of the PS3/Vita combination?

Just wait for Sony to release specs / info into the PS Orbis (remember that this time Sony will skip the # 4) before speculating. Those kind of things usually devolve into who is better than who~.

"Orbis" is just a code name. Other systems have carried similar names before announcement/launch.

Wii U was codenamed Project Cafe

Wii was Revolution

Vita was NGP

Xbox was DirectX Box

360 was Xenon

Kinect was Natal

Move was under Arc and Gem
