Who are you hiding from, friend?
George Washington Carver is rolling over in his grave! He heard a voice from God and it said, “George, separate the peanut into its elements; you will find cures and delicious snacks."
My friends do this on Xbox, stay logged out then jump into a call of duty game with one of their friends. When he kills his friend they are like wth lol its so stupid but funny at the same time.
I understand the need for invisible status for communication services like Skype, Viber, Google Talk, etc. (to save people calling you at work or school or sleep) but I never got the idea of why would you like to appear offline to other members when you are playing multiplayer games, especially if you can set your game so no one can join unless invited.
That's not always the case though. There are times when I want to be online but don't necessarily want my PSN friends to see me online. Either b/c they'll want to play an online game with me and I'm playing something else or those friends that like to chat more than play games. There are single player games that use online elements of the PSN - for example Dragon's Dogma. A game I'm currently playing and where you need to be online to connect to something called the Pawn Network. It's not absolutely required in order to play the game but if you want to recruit other players Pawns, yes, it's a must to be online.
Anyway I'm sure there are more examples than what I came up with.
I hope that the PS4 gives me the ability to go into "offline status" so that my 1,000+ won't know that I'm online and won't constantly bug me with tons of messages. It would be a real hassle when I wanted to just play some games either solo or just playing multiplayer by myself (yes I will go into PvP solo). I just get into a "don't bother me" mood sometimes, but sometimes the games I feel like playing will still require online for something (leaderbaords etc.)
