PS4 Controller both wired and wireless?

[ Edited ]

One of the sweet features of the new Xbox controller is that when it's plugged in the wireless radio shuts off and the controller becomes a native wired controller, zero delay like there is in wireless controllers (although the latency is small). Just wondering if the same goes for this new DS4 or not.

You'll never notice the latency. If you do you're paying way to much attention.

The PS3 controller was like that. It become native wired when charging so I would say it the same for PS4

I'm not sure how wireless latency and input lag latency compare, but I very much notice input lag latency. I can't play on my 30ms (Leo Bodner lag testing device tested) latencied Panasonic Plasma. So I stick to my Samsung PC monitor.

Was that ever confirmed in any articles about the PS3 controller? If you can find me one that'd be great, and would prove the same goes along for the PS4. I surely never knew about that if it was true. Microsoft was boasting that as a sweet new feature for their new controller.

Usually if latency is noticed at all it is with the display device, and it could be as simple as changing a setting. A friend of mine had a nice 3d led tv, and i hated playing video games over his house. One day I was playing tih his tv settings and changed the view mode to game mode and the lag was un noticeable.

As for wireless latency and input latency... Input latency is the delay between a button on the controller being pressed and the console recieving the signal. So wireless latence is included in input latency.

Wireless latency is the delay between a device sending a wireless signal and the other target device recieving it.

Input lag = (Wireless Latency + Code Interpretation)

I'm not sure about PS4 but I certain that PS3 is like that because It turn on instantaneously when wired.

The latency between wired or wireless controller is soo minute.... you will NEVER notice.

We're talking a difference of a FRACTION of a millisecond.
