I would really like to know the length of the power cord. I just re-did my set up and now the power strip is around 10 feet from my TV stand. And I really hate plugging my consoles into extension cords. I just don't trust them.

so here is a picture so people can understand why i need an extension. the way the couch sits is dead center on the TV i just took the picture at an angle so you could see where the entertainment console is. the cable on the ps3 camera is too short so i have a USB extension on it. So thats how i know the ps4 camera will also be too short.
Mine is even further away, I have a similar setup except it's a projector so the playstation is on a shelf behind the sofa and the screen is then a little over 4 meters in front. I use 2 usb extentions in line with the current eye (so it can go around the room not like a zip line) many people have setups like this wall mounted with long trunked hdmi from a av reciever the other side of the room. custom aux connection is fine but only if a resonable price 3-4 m extention is available.
Im PRETTY CERTAIN that Sony will sell extension cables at some point.
If that is a problem for you, I recommend you just wait until an extension cable is available before buying the camera.
Or, you can move the PS4 between the TV and your entertainment shelf to sorten the needed distance in the interim.
The PS4's power cable is a universal cable so you can find longer versions if necessary, as well as longer optical out cables if you have surround sound system you want to use.
yeah I don't think i will wait because some of the features that I want right away fromt he PS4 will require a camera.. I have a few things I can do in the interim though. I use HDMI only though, but have long enough ones, and the power won't be an issue either.
Thanks for the replies!
The guy asks a fair question. What your setup looks like is beside the point. Not everyone has a dinky TV in their mom's basement with wires running all over the place. It is not uncommon for people to house their gaming systems in an equipment closet or rack. A predetermined length with a proprietary cable is absurd in 2013. Sony already knows how long I need the cable to be?!? "Oh yeah. 6" feet should be plenty". You can't even mount a TV on the wall and conceal a 6ft HDMI in the wall. Dumb. I should be able to extend it and conceal it behind the sheetrock with 1, 2, 8, 13 or 324 Cat5 cables. "They'll certainly offer an extension". Really? With a predetermined length and a proprientary end, I'm sure. Weak, Sony. Weak. I want my money back.
I have been trying to figure this out as well. My game systems reside in a media closet with the cables routed through the attic. There is no way a 6 foot cable is going to work for me. So far the only option I can come up with is to cut the cable and splice in cat 5 , though I'd rather not do this with a brand new product if there is going to be an extension sold anytime soon.
