To download games to another PS3 you will have to put your account in that system by creating a new user and then go sign up for the PSN and instead of selecting create a  new psn account, pick use existing account and then put your info there. After that, go to the PlayStation Store and go to your download list.

The Data Transfer Utility was made just for your case it looks like. Here is the page showing how to do it:

I transfered about 20GB in an hour on the weekend, this feature is sweet.

All you do is wipe the PS3 you want to transfer to and then set it to receive the transfer, set the other to send the transfer and your good.

You dont even have to wipe the one console it will do it for you as a first step.  you dont have to make an account either, it does that when you transfer.

The only data that wont be copied will be copy protected stuff, it gets moved.

Make sure both machines are updated to the latest greatest firmware.

Its so simple and works awesome, unlike the stupid back up/restore which takes several hours and doesnt even work on a different console properly.

The machine which receives the data will be exactly like the one you transfered from, when your done.

Finally, the structure of my question is that you would have to disprove every possible outcome to be correct and I would just have to have one that would likely be beneficial. That's statistically in my favor by quite a bit.

I know, right? I see people say this a lot on here, and I just want to facepalm. "So you are saying, you game 19 hours of the day and just can't spare the 5 hours while you are sleeping to let it download stuff??" Maybe it's that mommy makes them turn it off after their hour of game time, or something?

I deleted all the crap (DCUO included) so my backup/restore to the new drive would complete in about 30 minutes, as opposed to 6 hours. I figure, during the 6 hours to restore, I really CAN'T do anything while it's chugging away. But with a quick restore, I'm back in business and can get all the stuff I need to re-download in the first night. Yeah, it was slightly annoying being on BO without map packs the first day after, but I had them by the next day, so no problem. The day after, I turned on DCUO to download while I was "at work". It took a couple of "sessions" like that to get it all downloaded, but I didn't care since I wasn't sitting there watching it tick.

Read the next post (#2).  You can use data transfer utillity.  So no, you don't have to download it again.

Alright i have a queston i have DUCO on my ps3 and my friend want to play today with me can i use the data transfer utillity to copy all my save date to his ps3( i know it will delete all his stuff) but my true question is when i do this will it delete all my data from my ps3 to or can i just have two copy of my ps3 data on 2 ps3? ( yes i know he will not able to play on my account) but as DCUO is free to play and all he got to do is created a new user on his ps3 and then put in his psn info. with my data go to DCUO on psn store and click dl game so the game think he has the game then when it try dl it see that there allready DCUO his ps3(my ps3 data) then he start it up and never has to dl the game. Which would take 25 hour to dl on my internet!!!!
