That doesn't look like my same issue...it says Blu-ray discs play for 5-15 minutes, mine don't even load onto the XMB. Thanks though.

Hm, well just surf the net and see if there are any other steps you can take that don't require you buying a replacement part.

Well I'm selling my parts for my old PS3, and I have the part you need. It still works great, but I would consider calling Sony and asking them to repair it so that you know what's being done is being done right.

I had almost the same problem (but mine could read and play games but failed on Blu Ray movies). It ended up being a cooling problem. After I moved my system away from my reciever, the problem went away.

Guys, I have the same issue. I just replaced the lens as well. Still unsuccessful. I've done everything possible. Should I just throw in the towel? I've done all of the following for PS3 model: CECHK01 (2008) [not slim]

1. Safe Mode (Selected all options. [including format or hard reset] )
2. Cleaned lens before replacing.
3. Replaced entire Mechanism for lens (KEM-410ACA)
4. Replaced Lens itself (KES-410ACA)

If any of you can direct me to a forum explaining further troubleshooting, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
