I unplugged the tv....Westinghouse brand. Then when I plugged it back up the TV rebooted itself. Then I turned on the PS3 and there was the picture.
Westinghouses have been known to have HDMI handshake issues with PS3's...that might be an issue.

Same thing just happened to me. I'm uing a 32" Visio and all of a sudden the HDMI stopped working. After 20 min playing around with it I thought my ps3 or TV was dead. Then I tried to unplug my TV for a minute and when I plugged it back in everything worked again.
Hope this will help others who are having the same problems (before it drives them crazy).
i have had the same problem exept that my ps3 was already connected and when i came back to it, it jut suddenly sopped connecting and i tried it to 3 different hdmi cables and still nothing, maybe a problem with the hdmi input hole.
