I don't have a major problem with the headset, but I do have issue with the fact when you mute the microphone, it should mute the input. This was an oversight on Sonys part. I do have a bit of background noise, but it's not that bad for me. I want the mute issue fixed and they need to stick an option in there to turn off the mic check feature for those that don't want it at all.
I don't see how Sony could have possibly meant to implement this on purpose, at least not this way. The hissing and mic volume is way too loud and can't be adjusted. This has made the headset completely unusable for me.
i agree with u man i have the same headset cost me a 113 dollars and now its a piece of shit i can play black ops and cant even hear whats happening around me and now i have to listen to myself talk which is just like an echo they need to fix that now some people did not want this in the update they should of made it so that u could switch to do that or not some people got that headset for gaming and strategy for there advantage on a match but now it sucks theres static, echos on your on voice, it takes away alot of the sound quality on game matches so now its like you dont even have 7.1 sourrond sound anymore
You can obviously see more people are pissed about it being on then being off. 6 threads how many posts, in like 24 hours.... point made. Why would sony overlook something so simple as to not think about the other group of thousands of people who had no issue. To seriously implement this to the masses without a toggle switch is a rookie developer mistake. This is a mulit-billion dollar corporation. They should know enough to have done this properly. They seriously need to bust their asses to fix this now.. It is DUMB. I can't even believe this actually happened. I am in denial.
Hah, I was wondering why I could suddenly hear myself talking, sniffing, breathing through my own headset last night. This explains it.
**edit** However, I don't mind it at all....as yeah, it was very hard to tell how loud I was talking as your normal inclination is to talk over the battle sounds even though it's not necessary.. I'd end up talking really loudly. Now I know exactly what I'm saying and at what speaking volume.
It's not a big deal.
