if can show us for a exact fact it using the proper said ssd you are claiming , then read the above statement, becuase no one knowsat this time it pure speculation. Not all ssd are the same. So you or i dont know what they putting inside the claimed ultralight ps3. So please drop the act that you do.. Thank you in advance.. No need to give false hope on the matter becuase no one knows for sure, be firm not solid and sold, becuase agn it could a old type sdd that cant be removed . Me you ,. or anyone else dont have any proof it doesnt or does re moval.
if you open a ps3 or put anything in your console it voids the warrenty period, because your not a sony technician.. you should learn to read a warrenty . i was reading them before you was born before maybe even before your mother was born.!!
Since want to be ill logical with it lets make a bet.. if one forum does not pop about a 16gb not having enough storage for 6 mths- 1yr of the forums after release if it ever happens .. ill give u 100$ in psn cards.. ok. you dont have to give me anything. I know it going draw compliants.
Now for the fun part. I a have buisness degree from maryland university i graduated 17th in my class along with a long navy career of 12 yrs. So im going to easy on you talking buisness .. After buisness becomes sucessful they listen to " some "stock holder and customers. But before that they do they dont care. if its a new project . they dont care about customers& stock holders, they just care about the product.. They will get the word out its good and all., but they dont care abotu stock holders and etc at that point of something new unless they are greedy... Oral B make toothbrushes new ones all the time. do you they care when consumer say one is crap. No.. trust me they have share holder and customers that complain all the itme.. But who its for them to buy every said product they make and love it .. Just jam that toothbrush down their neck with authority becuase it oral b. Be realistic they will make 100 other tooth brushes that share holder and customer can use .
Thats pure fantasty consumer make the company. Yes they give rating that it is a good or bad product. But the people who make these things dont care because alot like the said product. if they are going make something they are going to make it regardless. it might have minimum marketing to keep share holder happy, But dont they care becuase each product brings in money.. if customer dont buy it one country . They find a way to sell it in another ..
customer keep retail stores chains afloat and commercial companies stock holders,, sony was around in 1954 my friend they are worth 7-9 trillion today. they lost 60 billion during the outage if you think consumer kept them afloat this long alone long, you sorely mistaken, Great buisness sense did... You can sell a patenant and make 200 miilion . You dont need any consumer or stock holder money. So the customer keep something aflaot is not true for every company. Some are private
YOu think sony care about every consumer that buy the product.. it good pr to say you do ,, But in reality no they dont at the end of the day they care about making a great product 1st , making it last 2nd and continue to innovate in the market 3rd.. who ever want gain wealth and be fan can come along and spend. But are they arent forcing them too. No companies does.. Buying is optional my friend
So to say consumer make a company is false ,. becuase i could a sell patient all day and make 200 mill per idea sold.. Now stock holdr and consumer can say is its a bad product.. Thats about it. Every compnay is it own success becuase buying is optional
Upgrading the HDD yourself does not void your warranty on your PS3. There is no doubt whatsoever that you are very mistaken about this.
It specifically states this fact on this website: "Upgrading the HDD will not void the warranty, however, the consumer takes full responsibility when upgrading the HDD." (http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm
?a_id=362)
it does void the warrenty.. trust me becuase the user is not a sony technicans.. Your not even suppose open the ps3 period for any reason,. I think that is stated some where in every electronic device warrenty by law. Every line in a warrenty defeats the next line of liability to sony in fixing and being responsible for the damages.. in short they but everything on you in fault. There-for they dont fix it they replace it at a charge. This is how they make the warranty money... this how buisnesses do it..
A 1-3 yrs warrenty is purchased seperate the 1st 90 days is free with purchase by consumer law i suppose.. and anything after that is on the buyer.. If they bring it back to fix they take your hdd, becuase the hdd didnt come with the product, even if it did they take it. Even if its a 3rd party product. Anything touching the console internally from 3rd party make's it a damaged goods and unfixable by sony and void the warranty.
like i said each Line a warrenty defeats the next the line of liability toward sony or what ever said company. They can show what they want becuase that what they want you to do... they want you open it up & blow your warrenty money and they are liabable , So you can buy another warrenty and another.
Its easy money.. You these companies out here dnt have billion of dollars from product alone.. ha.. good one. warrenty is like insurance.. You dont really need it and when you do.. it most likley used up. Warenty/insurance make about 10-15% of all revenue for most companies as well as cost to them.
Keep think they would hold you responsible whena console damgae or error.. they blame 3rd party hdd every single time...
I'm sorry but what you have written doesn't make a lot of sense. This has been a reoccuring issue with you, plus you keep spouting off a bunch of assumptions with very little factual information.
The bottom line is that you are continuing to believe something that is false, in spite of being confronted with the facts. In this instance you are stating the Sony itself is incorrect about its own statements made on its own website.
This is not a personal attack or insult (or joke), but you clearly are delusional, as your behavior fits the definition exactly. This is becoming more clear to me and likely anyone else reading this thread. You really should seek some help for this, because this is not normal behavior...

Ok Im putting thisback on topic. First off ignore anything mcbuttz has to say because he's not contributing at all, and 2. When would any of us expect to see this new PS3, I believe TGS because itll steal some of Wii U's thunder, and it makes perfect business sense

All PS3 4000 and PS4 will have 16 gig of SSD Flash memory. It's needed to operate a game console with the Hard Disk asleep at the Menu screen only using 35 watts to voluntarily comply with the third tier of the Gold Star energy rating for game consoles.
Further to voluntarily comply with the Goldstar rating of 35 watts the PS3 Slim would have a newer GPU and CPU than in the PS3. Oh and the Xbox 360 is getting a hardware refresh this year also. Both are probably doing so for a number of reasons but both should comply with the lower power ratings.

I believe the PS3 UltraSlim would be released with 16 of flash memory and an upgradable HDD similar to its competitior Xbox 360 and will sell from $179.99-$199.99 for the 16gb Flash only $249.99 for 250 GB and 299.99 for 500GB (if reports are anything to go by) and I believe itll be announced at TGS, or Sony may schedule their own conference. I also believe that the new PS3 will have a top loading drive instead of a slot drive, and will ship before the holidays or else I dont believe it will live up to its full potential of sparking sales for Sony.

Agreed, TGS or some date Sept-October, Sony will have a huge Firmware update that will have the following:
Full Webkit2 browser, an upgrade to the current browser adding:
HTML5 <video> with Playready DRM
Accelerated compositing using tiles
SVG
WebGL
With a complete Accelerated Webkit 2 browser in the PS3 then the following can be supported:
Augmented Reality will leverage the browser libraries
ATSC 2.0 can be supported and is being implemented now (candidate status 1st quarter 2013)
1) Full XTV is possible in a refresh PS3 and with RVU in older PS3 models (No HDMI pass-thru) This is the reason for DTCP-IP in the PS3 since first firmware after 3.0.
2) 3-D XMB, Webview windows from the XMB with Rich Internet Applications and also Media rich (both supported by Sony job postings)
3) Sony can finally have commercial DASH IPTV from the Sony store
4) Blu-ray ultraviolet app
5) HTML5 WebMAF apps with interprocess communication
The Sony Nasne DVR will act as the front end tuner and DVR serving via DLNA with newly adopted features all Sony products including handhelds. This means the DLNA in the PS3 will be updated.
HTML5 WebMAF standard means cross platform and on the same platform inter process communications. For instance a Contact list (Friends list) that can be used by all applications like a new Skype or Google Talk. A Calendar that can share information as well as tie into a TV guide. This implies a set of common HTML5 apps that will be free or come standard on all platforms like:
Calendar
Contact List
Journal
Skype and/or Google Talk
ATSC 2.0 is I think the reason both Xbox 361 and PS3 4000 chassis with total redesign to voluntarily comply with the third tier Goldstar EPA rating and both having a browser is happening at the end of 2012.
ATSC 2.0 is the US equivilent of the European DVB hbbTV; It uses XHTML (browser) to X-tend TV features (XTV). It supports 1080P and 3-D for Over The Air TV by using the h.264 codec. This is supported by modern Smart TVs but most of the TVs on the market can't support a browser or the h.264 codec BUT the PS3 and newer Xbox 360 game consoles can. They just need the ability to access a tuner like the Nasne or HD Homerun network tuner or on cable via a DVR with RVU support (already announced by Verizon and Direct TV).
Few will buy a $1400 TV to get these features but most will buy a $150 game console. This gets the Sony PS3 in the home living room, in fact every room of the house.
The following link is a post better describing the above as well a a condensed list of links with information that leads to speculation that the two refreshes by the two game consoles at the same time might use the same core SoC. Put two 1PPU3SPU CPU packages in a slightly modified AMD A6 Fusion APU with the X86 CPU packages removed and it can emulate both the Xbox 360 and PS3. It will be the speculated PS3.5 which might have HDMI pass-thru. THE A6 is on a 32nm SOI process as would be the Xbox 361 refresh. That there is no information from IBM on a 32nm PS3 SoC but there is for a Xbox and the microsoft-sony.com domain registration as well as the features listed in the Digitimes PS4 rumor (must be a PS3 confused as a PS3 released in 2012) support this.
To support the EPA GoldStar third tier energy use spec (35 watts at an active menu screen), the hard disk will have to be sleeping which requires SSD cache for the OS and dropping the PS3 from 61 watts to 35 watts also will require a more modern GPU and CPU that support Zero power modes for the GPU (AMD GPU in the A6) and IBM has a newer PPU design and individual CPU packages can be turned off or run at slower clock speeds in an AMD A6.

its based off of information compiled by him through research.....he could be wrong but the whole fun of it is if he is right......we will have great experiences coming our way....and by the way the ps3 is infact over due for a huge OS upgrade....
