dont do it, there wont be a large performance increase, becasue the ps3 only reads/writes so fast.

also, the ps3 doesnt support trim, so the SSD will suffer major performance loss over time.

also, SSD's are not good for random read/writes (like save files) becasue over time, they again degrade faster.

BUT, that SSD will not work in a PS3. It is a PCI card, not a normal hdd, (its only for computers)

you need something like the following:

No that drive won't fit. It must be 2.5". That one is 3.5"

this is what I would get and have money left over for games, the drive you are looking at cost as much as a PS3

This drive is sooo much larger

I never no worry money, only want fast loading, save games, install. 100-120 GB is right and no need large GB, because i play game from PSN and get all trophy! Later delete game same time.

solid states have a otp area (one time program or 1000 time program)   above post is right solid states dont do well for read writes.used mainly to install a os then use another drive for the read/writing.ps3 has built in os not on drive so pointless.there is plenty of other sire that people have attemted this and it  dont function correctly so u will b giving yourself a headache.

you really might wanna check this out before you do it.

a ssd would be better suited in a computer or laptop. the ps3 transfer rate is limited.
