PS3 Slim graphics getting worse??

18 replies 710 views Edited Mar 2, 2013

Hello all. I have had my ps3 slim for about 2 years now and it doesnt seem to have that same "beauty" that it used to. I have an Xbox as well and games like Battlefield 3 and Black Ops 2 look WAAAYY better on the xbox.  I prefer playing my ps3 but some first person shooters look like crap. I have messed with all the settings, cables, and tv settings so those arent an issue.  i mean, it isnt really noticeable unless i play black ops 2 on the ps3, then go to the xbox, and the xbox looks georgeous. I want my ps3 to be georgeous again!!

anyone else have the same issue or anyone have any thoughts as to what I can do?? Thanks.

I think its all in your head. Nothing has happened to the PS3. Other than the Ps3 having slightly lower black levels than the Xbox,(which causes the xbox to have slightly better contrast) multi-platform games look basically identical. (except FF-XIII which looks infinitely better on the PlayStation)

RE-THINK SALAD

It's in your head. The only real way to tell the difference is to do a side by side comparison and most of the time it's only a slight difference in color.

Or maybe you're not using HDMI on your ps3?

..Like any amount of comparison shot sites, game-reviewers and IGN folks have since day 1. Pretty common.

It's pretty obvious I was referring to the OP here and not gaming websites

ive tried everything. its not in my head trust me. the ps3 environments seem to have maybe a slower frame rate or something.  i might just get a refurbished ps3 from gamestop and do a comparison to see if its my console or not. either way im mostly playing on my ps3 because i honestly like it better than the clunky xbox controller.

Have you ever set the RGB filter from Limited to Full? That gives you deep, richer colors. And there are some games that aren't optimized fully for the PS3 version.
