Oblivion and Skyrim have been very disappointing. I have the PS3 160. My son had an early model PS3 60 which could play Bethesda Studios games with no problems. Yet my 160 has problems. I blame Bethesda for the most part. Most of the problem lies with the Auto Save, It does not turn off.
I also heard that the newer PS3's format is difficult to deal with. If so, why not fix this to have the PS3 more friendly.
There is also a LOTR game that goes haywire and just locks up.
Are there RPG games that do well on my PS3 160.

I do not believe you can turn auto-save off in The Elder Scrolls games. Some games come with auto-save or nothing. Of course, isn't there a way to also save the game manually (with auto-save still staying on)?
The PlayStation 3 has lots of RPGs you should be able to operate on your system, whether you're looking for something good like Star Ocean: The Last Hope International or something extraordinary like Eternal Sonata. There's Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, one of 2013's best games so far. You might even have a ball with the smartly designed downloadable RPG, Costume Quest.
Skyrim has 3 Auto Saves that can be turned off and 1 that can be disabled. The problem lies with the Travel Auto Save since the game is constantly playing catchup with itself. Like Oblivion, the problem started at level 52, but only went crazy at level 61.
I shall look into those games. I am heavy into sword and sorcery games. The white witch sounds attractive. And a pox on those companies that cannot make a proper game for the PS3. Thanks,
