I haven't had a working ps3 for about 3 years now, and I think it's about time that I fork up the money to get a new one. I've heard a lot of lousy reviews for the super slim but I feel like it's also my best bet considering that's what the stores have in stock. Anyway, I've been seeing a lot of articles regarding the probability of a significant price drop for the ps3 now that the ps4 has been announced. i know it's all speculation and Sony hasn't hinted towards it happening, but what would your advice to me be? Should I wait it out a month or so in the hopes of saving $50-$100? Or should I just suck it up and get one now/ wait til mid march for the God of War Bundle (which leads me to be skeptical of a price cut since that's already priced at $350 and hasn't been released yet). Also, if I were to get one now, is Playstation Plus in NA worth it? Is the classic white with a free 1 year subscription a better deal than the God of War bundle? Thanks guys

A year long Plus subscription is better IMO. You'll get free games and lots of discounts. I can't say anything about PS3 price cuts as I just don't know.

I was actually going to suggest you just get the White 500GB model with a year of Playstation Plus, before I even read you mention it, because you get an extra 3 months if you activate a year of Playstation Plus before March 4th. Playstation Plus is well worth it, even if you don't have the time to finish half of the free games you're given. It depends on how far you want to stretch your dollar. Do you want 40-50+ free games to play throughout 15 months, or 1 game to play for as long as you want but will likely be done with in a few weeks.

You really need a PS3 at this point? With the streaming service they plan to do, you could just play PS3 games on the PS4. How about saving up for that instead of having 2 systems?

Because the cloud streaming through Gaikai may not be fully operational on launch day, AND you'd need quite a fast internet connection to play games through cloud streaming.
PS3's are cheap enough, and the PS4 is still a long ways off that OP can easily save up the money for a PS4 if he wanted to

it is highly unlikely a PS3 price cut would happen until after the PS4 launches
